Operations Manager | Manufacturing

There is a real shift happening inside this specialist manufacturing business. Operations are no longer simply the supporting structure behind the work. They are becoming the driving force that will shape the next phase of the organisation. This role sits right at the centre of that transition. The business produces technical products to exacting standards, and they are looking for an Operations Manager who can lead the operation with confidence today while building a stronger, more resilient version of tomorrow.
You will join a team that thrives on clarity, reliability and disciplined execution. The work is detailed, the expectations are high and the need for steady, structured leadership is constant. Your role is to make sure production runs smoothly, supply chains remain stable, stock levels stay accurate, and every order moves cleanly through the organisation from intake to delivery. The decisions you make will have a direct impact on how efficiently and confidently the business operates, and your influence will be felt by every team that depends on the operation running well.
This is not only a role about the present. It is also about designing what comes next. You will take ownership of planning systems, capacity modelling and operational controls so the business is not just responding to demand but anticipating it. You will look at how materials flow, how people work, how suppliers perform and how processes connect.
You will spot the gaps, challenge the outdated habits and introduce ideas that make the operation stronger, simpler and more scalable. Continuous improvement will be woven into your daily thinking and Lean principles will guide your approach to everything from scheduling and quality to supplier partnerships and resource planning.
Your leadership will shape the tone of the entire operation. You will support and guide operational and maintenance teams, creating an environment built on accountability, trust and collaboration. You will build strong relationships with Sales, Quality, Engineering, Technical and Finance so that everyone has the visibility and alignment they need to deliver. Communication is central in this environment. You will be the person who keeps conversations open, expectations clear and teamwork consistent.
Safety and quality will also sit firmly at the heart of your role. The organisation works to rigorous standards and you will help maintain the systems, behaviours and procedures that protect people and ensure consistent product performance. You will oversee facilities, equipment and compliance with the same level of discipline and care that you apply to planning and production. Operational excellence only works when every part of the environment supports it.
What makes this opportunity stand out is the balance between stability and ambition. The business knows its strengths, yet it is also ready to evolve. They want someone who can run the operation smoothly today while shaping the systems, behaviours and processes they will need for the future. Someone who is experienced in planning, supplier performance, inventory discipline and team leadership. Someone who can stay calm in complexity but also bring momentum to change.
