Do you have a passion for Orthopaedic care? Do you have a passion for caring for and supporting patients with complex needs and frailty? Is providing high standards of fundamental care one of your main drivers?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to be part of a friendly, dynamic, multidisciplinary team, in the role of Band 7 Ward Manager. The successful applicant will be supported to use their own initiative working with the key stakeholders to develop and manage the femoral fracture ward within MSK.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills and have experience in managing staff within a clinical environment. Applicants should be self-motivated, dynamic and forward thinking and be able to lead and develop the nursing team. They will have a track record of implementing change and be a highly skilled communicator with the ability, use effective verbal, written and IT skills to ensure patients receive timely, evidence-based care and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

* Registered Nurse (valid with NMC)
* Degree or evidence of actively working towards Degree level of study.
* To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
* Certificate in management and Leadership or equivalent
* Post graduate education relevant to the role


Experience

* Evidence of management experience.
* Evidence of personal and professional development.
* Ability to work autonomously.
* Experience of patient flow.
* Experience of leading and managing change.
* Experience at sister / charge nurse level.
* Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate and inspire staff and initiate changes.
* Experience of MDT working.
* Experience and knowledge of clinical governance.
* Knowledge, understanding and experience of the care and treatment of Orthopaedic patients.
* Audit / Research
* Experience of managing QUEST, IPC, IPR, recruitment and section, attendance, roster planning and incident investigation.
* Knowledge, understanding and experience of the care and treatment of Orthopaedic patients.
