KD Residential Care is looking for Residential Care Workers to join our children's home in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex.

Job Summary
The Residential Care Worker plays a vital role in the day-to-day care and support of children and young people within our residential home. This position involves working closely with a team to provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of each child. The role requires a compassionate individual with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
Care and Support
* Provide direct care and supervision to children and young people, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Develop positive relationships with the children, acting as a role model and promoting trust and respect.
* Assist in the creation and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Support children in developing life skills, independence, and confidence through planned activities and daily routines.
Safeguarding and Compliance
* Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities.
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and care plan documentation.
Communication and Collaboration
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, external professionals, and families to support the best interests of the children and young people.
* Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and training opportunities.
* Communicate effectively with children, adapting communication styles to meet individual needs and abilities.
Behaviour Management
* Implement positive behaviour support strategies to manage challenging behaviours.
* Utilise de-escalation techniques and promote conflict resolution skills among children.
* Support the emotional and psychological well-being of children by providing a stable and supportive environment.
Additional Responsibilities
* Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and organising activities.
* Participate in outings, educational trips, and recreational activities with the children.
* Be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of the homes.
Remuneration
* £13.50/hour (day shifts)
* £14.00/hour (night shifts)
* £14.50/hour (Weekend day shifts)
* £15.50/hour (Weekend night shifts)
