Sitting within the first line of defence, this pivotal position operates within a digital mortgage introduction environment, helping the business manage compliance risks, maintain regulatory standards and providing guidance on FCA-regulated activity.

Partnering closely with teams across the business including sales, operations and product, as well as the second line of defence, the Compliance Manager will provide practical guidance and hands-on support to help identify and manage compliance risks early. With a focus on delivering good outcomes for customers while supporting business growth, the Compliance Manager will foster a culture where compliance and commerciality work hand in hand.

4. Collaborating with external parties to support thematic reviews, audits and deep-dives, while tracking and facilitating completion of identified actions
5. Conducting regular horizon scanning to identify emerging risks and potential impacts on the business
6. Conducting policy gap analyses and process reviews, maintaining up to date action trackers and asset libraries
7. Working closely with key partners including lenders and brokers, attending governance meetings and reviewing management information to ensure supply chains are delivering good customer outcomes
8. Monitoring Appointed Representative activity
9. Providing practical compliance advice to colleagues on projects, initiatives and day-to-day queries
10. Overseeing the Training and Competence Scheme, maintaining and monitoring CPD progress
11. Regularly reviewing and updating compliance training materials to ensure they are clear, engaging and aligned with current regulations and company policies
12. Preparing and submitting FCA RegData returns and managing Connect applications

Who you are

13. Has practical experience in the mortgage sector or broad FCA-regulated environments, with a solid understanding of compliance obligations
14. Can build strong, collaborative relationships across multiple teams and levels, influencing others and embedding compliance in a positive way
15. Experience in financial promotions or digital marketing compliance is advantageous but not essential
16. Has a good understanding of Consumer Duty principles
17. Is commercially minded and able to make compliance advice practical and proportionate
18. Is enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
19. Communicates clearly and effectively, able to explain complex compliance requirements in a digestible way
20. Has attention to detail and the ability to spot potential risks early
21. Thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment, able to switch between operational tasks and projects
