Help us make a difference as a Shift Mechanical Technician at our Green Energy facility in Hull
The role is on a shift rota (2 days / 2 nights / 4 off), working 6am/6pm - 6pm/6am.
£43,000 per annum.
A quick look at the role.
The role holder will effectively drive engineering activities at our facility to ensure operational excellence. Responsibilities include maintaining plant availability through timely execution of PPMs, reactive maintenance, engineering tasks, and process improvements. The role also involves promoting best practices on shift, ensuring high engineering, compliance, and health & safety standards.
Your Core Responsibilities.
* Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns, perform planned preventative maintenance, and execute project work across various mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
* Perform hands-on mechanical work involving pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, shafts, and rotating equipment, with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
* Apply industrial know-how gained from manufacturing, industrial, or automated environments; be confident in strip-downs, rebuilds, and mechanical fault diagnosis.
* Ensure engineering precision by aligning and fitting components, overhauling machinery, conducting lubrication and inspection routines, working with fabrication and welding when needed, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

* Mechanical NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* HNC in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment (preferred)
