Due to internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen within our Finance team to apply for a Finance Manager role which supports our Thriving Places Directorate. Our Finance Team provides financial management, reporting, accountancy and advice to Directors, heads of servicPe, budget holders, elected Members and stakeholders across the full range of services delivered by the Council. Reporting to the Group Accountant/Group Finance Manager you will be responsible for a team of 4 staff who are passionate about finance business partnering, delivering support to the full budget cycle of budget development, including developing financial business cases for budget proposals; budget monitoring, including the ongoing review of savings delivery savings; and financial year end through a mix of technical, operational and strategic advice. This ensures that managers across the organisation can effectively manage their budgets, make effective decisions and develop and deliver transformational change projects. The role also ensures that the financial systems and the accounting information is robust. Line management responsibilities include recruitment, performance management, and the day-to-day leadership of a team of professional staff. As our Finance Manager for Thriving Places, you will be responsible for overall financial management and business partnering support for a 2025-26 gross budget of just under £80m revenue including Climate and Natural Environment Inclusive and Green Growth Sustainable Highways and Transport Waste and Environmental Services As well as providing support to key Thriving Places capital schemes Capital Programme 2025-2030.
