Morgan Hunt is collaborating with a consultancy to recruit a Civil Engineer for their growing team in Scotland. You will work on high‑quality projects in the power and energy infrastructure space, such as substations, grid connections, and renewable energy facilities, as well as in industrial, defence and transportation sectors. The organisation is expanding, offering major energy and infrastructure projects that shape the UK’s power network and supporting your career development toward chartership.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver civil engineering works for large‑scale projects, covering drainage, earthworks, external works, and utilities.
* Produce high‑quality technical drawings, specifications, and reports, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable outcomes.
* Review designs for compliance and quality.
* Support the development of junior engineers while promoting best practice.
What they're looking for
* Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
* Experience delivering projects in one or more sectors (ideally in the power sector).
* Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE or IStructE).
* Strong understanding and experience in drainage design, earthworks, and external works.
* Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD (or similar) for modelling, layouts, and drafting designs.
* Good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM regulations, and BIM processes.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and multi‑disciplinary teams.
