Hands‑on technical role bridging Electronic Patient Record (EPR) projects and Business Intelligence (BI) functions. Reporting to the Data Solutions Architect, you will focus on developing BI functions within core EPR systems and on the architecture and data flows to the Trust’s warehouse solutions, including data‑flow requirements and mandatory reporting.
Responsibilities
* Understand, design, create, maintain, monitor and document data flows from core EPR systems and associated modules.
* Gather requirements, design data transfers and extracts for reporting, commissioning and NHS data sets such as SUS, HES, CSDS and ISNs.
* Support system preparation, testing and implementation of BI elements of Patient Administration System (PAS) modules, ensuring data quality and reporting standards are maintained.
* Design, develop, maintain and monitor data flows ensuring accurate upstream and downstream integration.
* Translate business and reporting requirements into robust data extracts and transfers to support reporting, commissioning and national data sets.
* Design and execute test plans, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring data integrity, quality and reporting standards.
* Work collaboratively across project and operational teams to embed new BI functionality into core analytics and data teams.
* Contribute to dataset development for internal use and cross‑organisational initiatives.
* Flexible working may be required for support during testing phases and go‑live periods.
Qualifications
* Experience with Microsoft SQL, SSRS, SSIS, Excel and Power BI.
* Previous experience of NHS PAS/BI systems, preferably System C Careflow, NHS Income, commissioning and performance.
* Ability to design test plans, including UAT and reporting.
* Strong understanding of architecture, integration and design/management of data flows, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
