Senior, strategic HR leadership supporting our Technology & Product divisions. You will act as a trusted partner to senior leaders and C‑suite stakeholders, bringing fresh thinking, strong commercial judgement and a deep understanding of building high‑performing, future‑ready teams. You will lead a team of nine HR professionals and drive an agenda focused on culture, leadership, talent, organisational effectiveness and transformation. The role requires someone proactive, adaptive and confident navigating large‑scale change in a complex matrix environment.
Your Key Responsibilities and Impact
* Partner with senior leaders across Technology & Product to shape and deliver people strategies efficiently, ensuring appropriate investment while delivering maximum value through cost management and new ways of working.
* Lead large‑scale, complex functional/Pan BBC HR change programmes, managing stakeholders within a matrix environment to ensure successful delivery within budget and timescales.
* Lead on organisational design and operating‑model development to structure the business for success.
* Partner with senior leaders and provide expert advice across a broad range of specialisms to handle the most complex situations, making decisions independently.
* Build effective relationships across the division and collaborate to create an inclusive culture where colleagues can thrive.
* Work with trade unions to maintain constructive relationships and support effective negotiation.
* Lead the development and embedding of a high‑performance culture across Technology & Product, setting clear expectations and enabling teams to deliver at their best.
* Drive meaningful progress on diversity and inclusion, integrating D&I principles into leadership behaviours, talent processes and everyday practices.
Essential Criteria
Your skills and experience:
* Significant HR leadership experience within technology and/or product‑led environments.
* A proactive, modern approach, with the confidence to challenge and introduce fresh ideas.
* Experience developing and embedding operating models.
* Hands‑on expertise driving culture, transformation and change programmes.
* Experience working effectively with trade unions.
* Adept at managing numerous, diverse senior and executive‑level stakeholders, often under tight timescales and competing priorities.
* A convincing and persuasive communicator, able to modify beliefs and opinions of teams and senior stakeholders, and establish effective collaborative relations across BBC departments and external agencies.
