Overview
Purton Surgery is looking for a part time Practice Nurse to join our 5-strong nursing team.
We have 9 GPs, a prescribing Nurse Practitioner, 2 Health Care Assistants, and a comprehensive administration and reception team to look after our 11,000 patients. 16 - 24 hours per week. Salary dependent on experience.
Job Summary
The Practice Nurse will be responsible for delivering practice nursing services as part of the multidisciplinary team, working within their scope of practice, the NMC code of conduct, and professional boundaries. The nurse will contribute to infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, and health prevention, and support the management team in reviewing clinical policy and procedures.

Responsibilities
* Deliver practice nursing services as part of the multidisciplinary team
* Work within scope of practice, NMC code of conduct, and professional boundaries
* Infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, and health prevention
* Support management in reviewing clinical policy and procedure
* Wound care management and dressing/venepuncture as required
* Administration of injections, cervical screening, childhood and travel immunisations, and phlebotomy (as needed)
* Support clinical governance, clinical supervision or mentorship, and participation in change projects
* Ensure safe use of medical equipment and stock management
Clinical Responsibilities
* Wound care assessment and management
* Treatment room services and patient follow-up
* Venepuncture when required
* Phlebotomy and injections
Personal Development and Team Working
* Maintain professional nursing standards and participate in ongoing education
* Attend relevant meetings and contribute to quality improvements
* Contribute to team planning, scheduling, and handover
Service Delivery
* Provide nursing cover for holidays, study leave and sickness
* Ensure safe practice and report equipment issues
* Assist with stock checks and equipment maintenance
Person Specification
Essential: Experience of working within a nursing team
Desirable: Experience of working in a GP practice
Compliance
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required
* UK professional registration essential
