JLL is seeking an experienced M&E Technician to join our Workplace Management team, delivering exceptional facilities services at a prestigious client site in Shoreditch. You will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and ongoing performance of all mechanical and electrical building systems, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal disruption to occupants.Key Responsibilities Maintenance & OperationsUndertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, lighting, small power, UPS systems, and building management systems (BMS)Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and building system alarms, diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutionsCarry out routine inspections of plant rooms, risers, and distribution boards to identify potential issues before they escalateMaintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders, and system performance data using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo or similar platformsClient Service & CommunicationServe as a visible, approachable point of contact for building occupants regarding M&E mattersLiaise effectively with the client, colleagues, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operationsAttend client meetings and provide technical input on building performance, improvement initiatives, and planned worksDemonstrate JLL's commitment to service excellence through professional conduct and proactive problem-solvingCompliance & SafetyEnsure all maintenance activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation including CDM Regulations, PUWER, and LOLERUndertake risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for all worksMaintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements affecting building services, including BS 7671 (18th Edition), Gas Safety Regulations, L8 water hygiene compliance, and pressure systems regulationsSupport the site management team in coordinating statutory inspections including annual electrical testing, gas safety certification, and emergency lighting testingContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort in line with sustainability objectivesContribute to carbon reduction initiatives and utility optimisation programmesAssist with minor improvement projects and system upgrades as directed by the Engineering Manager or Helpdesk ManagerQualifications & Experience EssentialRecognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ/SVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent)Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018) certificationInspection and Testing qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent)Proven experience in a building services or facilities maintenance role, ideally within commercial office environments in Central LondonStrong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities across M&E disciplinesCompetent IT skills including Microsoft Office and CMMS platformsDesirableExperience working on high-specification or Grade A office buildingsKnowledge of BMS platforms (Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Honeywell, or similar)Additional certifications such as Legionella awareness training, F-Gas Category 1 certification, or PAT testingIOSH Managing Safely or similar H&S qualificationDriving licence (if applicable for multi-site support)Personal Attributes Customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detailFlexible approach to working hours, including participation in out-of-hours on-call rotaProfessional presentation and demeanour suitable for a prestigious corporate environment in Shoreditch's creative quarterWhat JLL Offers Competitive salary (dependent on experience)Company pension scheme with employer contributions25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysProfessional development opportunities and industry-recognised trainingCareer progression within a global organisation with strong UK presenceSupportive team environment focused on innovation and excellenceAccess to JLL's extensive learning and development resourcesEmployee assistance programme and wellbeing initiativesCycle to work schemeTPBN1_UKTJ
