Marine Survey and Geospatial Engineer
Location: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness or Perth, Scotland.
Salary: £50,100 – £75,100 plus car allowance and performance‑related bonus.
Working pattern: Permanent, full‑time with flexible first‑options.
Responsibilities
* Support Marine Survey & Geospatial activities for Subsea Cable Installation, including interfaces and acting as Client Representative during survey and installation campaigns.
* Develop and review Marine Survey & Geospatial project documentation for Subsea Cable Installation.
* Assist the Survey Manager in developing and reviewing Marine Survey & Geospatial documentation.
* Apply and adhere to the Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Large Capital Projects Governance processes, ensuring actions align with SSE Safety Culture and core leadership values.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in Marine Survey & Geospatial relative to subsea installation, including roles such as Hydrographic Surveyor or Party Chief; experience with subsea pipeline or umbilical installation, or Hydrographic Survey in the Royal Navy or Royal Engineers will be considered.
* Professional registration at Chartered Level or equivalent demonstrable experience, with detailed Marine Survey & Geospatial knowledge for subsea cable installation.
* Experience as a Project Surveyor or equivalent, supporting delivery of subsea installation works, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce high‑standard documentation and reporting.
* Ability to manage assigned packages of Marine Survey & Geospatial work in relation to Subsea Cable Installation while considering financial forecast impacts and other programmed activities.
* Understanding of the Transmission business and regulated environment, with a background in Offshore Transmission, offshore or subsea construction/installation, or Offshore Wind on major projects.
