We are working with a well-established piling and civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an Assistant Piling Engineer to support ongoing projects across the North West.
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity based out of their Bolton office, with occasional site visits as required.
Ideal for someone with a background in civil engineering or geotechnics looking to gain experience in the specialist piling sector with a long-term career path.
Role Overview:
As Assistant Piling Engineer, you’ll be supporting both site and office operations, with a strong focus on QA, document control, and day-to-day coordination between the site team and contracts management.
Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and reviewing QA documentation and project records
*
Managing and updating safety documentation (RAMS, permits, inspections)
*
Liaising with site foremen and contracts managers on progress and site requirements
*
Supporting engineering teams with drawings, technical information, and reports
*
Assisting in the preparation of as-built documentation and client handovers
*
Tracking and organising site records, concrete cube results, and pile logs
*
Visiting sites occasionally to carry out checks and support QA procedures
*
Working with the contracts team to support project delivery schedules and resource planning
Requirements:
*
HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or similar
*
Strong interest in piling, ground engineering, or heavy civils
*
Good understanding of construction QA and site processes
*
Organised and detail-oriented with a proactive approach
*
Competent in Microsoft Office and basic CAD (preferred but not essential)
*
Full UK driving licence (site travel as required)
*
CSCS card (or willing to obtain)
