Responsibilities
* Managing and undertaking statutory audits, overseeing all stages from planning to completion.
* Taking responsibility for managing the audit and team to ensure timely completion within budget.
* Acting as the main contact for clients during on-site audit activities.
* Managing on-site teams and supporting their development.
* Delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
* Supervising audit teams, reviewing work, and assisting in project management and client communication.
* Reporting to a Senior Manager on complex audits and managing a small portfolio of clients.
* Ensuring work is profitable, timely, and meets professional standards and client satisfaction.
* Supporting the team in delivering quality audit reports and providing insightful comments.
* Contributing to continuous improvement within the team.
* Leading assurance and risk management projects, liaising with clients, and preparing reports.
Purpose of the Role
As a qualified Accountant, you will lead audit teams on various assignments, with a focus on corporate clients. You should adhere to deadlines, identify opportunities for additional firm services, manage work in progress and billing, and undertake additional duties as needed. Experience with complex groups and liaising with component auditors is highly desirable.
Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge
* Ability to provide practical, proactive business advice and escalate complex issues.
* Thorough knowledge of business cycle controls, audit risks, and business implications of control deficiencies.
Required Qualifications
* Membership of a CCAB body (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, ICAI, AICPA).
* Commitment to ongoing CPD in relevant disciplines and sectors.
