This role involves instrument maintenance work on site, including planned, preventive, and reactive activities. The goal is to maintain site reliability and integrity according to legal and company standards, carried out as part of a shift team.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during maintenance activities.
2. Report accidents or near misses as per health and safety policies.
3. Raise work permit requests, follow permit and isolation procedures, and contribute to risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
4. Perform scheduled maintenance according to the company plan to support production.
5. Identify and rectify equipment defects related to your trade.
6. Assist in promoting safety culture through activities like BBS, Near Miss reporting, TBTs, and Chemical Awareness.
7. Participate in safety reviews and routine plant safety activities.
8. Ensure work is carried out safely and in accordance with guidelines.
9. Maintain high quality standards, ensuring first-time right work to minimize rework.
10. Engage in fault finding and improvement activities to reduce equipment failures.
Skills & Qualifications
1. Relevant Trade Qualification as an Instrument Technician.
2. Ideally, a Level 3 education certificate such as NVQ or HNC in a relevant engineering field.
3. Self-motivated, KPI-focused, and able to work under pressure.
4. Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills, comfortable in technical and shopfloor environments.
5. Experience with maintenance, calibration, and testing of temperature, pressure, flow, level, and analyser instrumented systems.
6. Familiarity with computer use for maintenance activities.
