Digital Signal Processing Engineer
Location: Fullyonsite – Gloucester
Working Week: 37.5 hrs across 4 days
Security Clearance: DV (Developed Vetting) required!
The Opportunity:
A Tier One DefencePrime seeks an exceptional Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer.You’ll be embedded in a highly classified R&D environment, leading thedesign and deployment of next-gen Software Defined Radio (SDR) and DSPalgorithms for covert payloads and intelligence-gathering platformswhich help protect the UK's National Security.
The Role:
* Reverse Engineering: Deconstruct RF systems (hardware/software/signals) to identifyexploitable vectors and redesign opportunities.
* DSPAlgorithm Development: Build and optimise signal processingalgorithms for detection, classification, and exploitation.
* SDR Design: Architect SDR solutions for high-stakescommunications and intelligence missions.
* PayloadEngineering: Create mission-critical comms payloads compatiblewith existing and future platforms.
* Testing & Validation:Lead lab/field testing loops with multidisciplinary teams toensure real-world performance.
* Systems Integration: Fuse your DSP work into broader mission systems alongsidehardware/software experts.
KeyRequirements:
* UK National with current UKIC DevelopedVetting (DV) and willingness to obtain enhanced DV.
* Deep DSPexpertise – algorithm design, optimisation, and practical deployment.
* Experienced in reverse engineering RF systems (signals,protocols, hardware).
* Mastery of SDR platforms – GnuRadio orequivalent.
* Solid Python, C/C++ skills for embedded orreal-time environments.
* Strong FPGA/SoCexperience (VHDL or Verilog preferred).
* Comfortable inLinux-based dev environments with GitLab and CI pipelines.
* Proven track record in R&D, especially indefence/intelligence contexts.
* Base Salary: Up to £85,000
* Bonus:Up to 10% based on individual performance
* Flexible Working:Options for a 4-day workweek or a 9-day fortnight
* Pension:Employer contribution up to 10%, matching employee contributions up to5%
