This is a proper field sales role in the speciality food and drink space.
Not telesales.
Not key account babysitting.
Not sitting at home waiting for orders.
You’ll be responsible for a defined South West territory, spending most of your time face to face with independent retailers, growing existing accounts and winning new ones.
We’re working exclusively with a well-established, fast-growing food wholesaler that supplies premium brands into farm shops, garden centres, food halls and delis.
The role
You’ll take ownership of a territory with a strong existing customer base, but there is clear headroom to grow.
You’ll be expected to:
* Build long-term relationships with independent retailers
* Develop existing accounts and increase range and spend
* Prospect and convert new customers
* Deliver sales and margin targets
* Use data to identify opportunities and drive incremental sales
* Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to maximise performance
* Attend trade shows and industry events when required
This is a home-based role, living in the South West, with travel across the region up to four days per week.
What they’re looking for
Someone who knows food retail and understands how independents buy.
You’ll need:
* Proven experience in field sales within food and drink
* A track record of winning new business and growing accounts
* Confidence selling at owner and senior buyer level
* Strong organisation across a large territory
* A self-starting, commercial mindset
If you can hunt and farm, you’ll do well here.
The package
* £40,000 to £45,000 basic
* Company car provided
* Bonus opportunity based on targets
* Additional bonus linked to company profitability
* Long-term, stable role with a growing business
Why this role
This is a business investing in sales, not cutting corners.
You’ll have autonomy, trust, and support. You’ll be judged on results, not noise. And you’ll be selling products you can stand behind in a market that still values relationships
