Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer
Birmingham (1-2 days in the office per week)
52k plus up to 19% Pension
This is a hands-on technical role supporting the design, build, and ongoing operation of the business’s Azure and on-premises infrastructure and services. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager this is a senior engineering role within the IT Operations team. The role contributes technical expertise to ensure platforms are robust, secure, and fit for purpose.
* Responsible for 3 rd level technical build and support
* Responsible for 2 nd level technical support on agreed services
* Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of the Azure and on-premises infrastructure estate. To include (but not limited to):
Azure Enterprise & Tenant administration
Active Directory/Entra ID provisioning and administration
Azure Enterprise Application, Application Registrations, and integrations
Azure B2C
Azure Active Directory Connect
Conditional Access policies and Azure MFA
Azure Privileged Identity Management
Azure Identity Access Management (IAM)
* Management of monitoring and alerting across the company estate
* Provide ongoing maintenance and support for servers and storage
* Ensure compliance with information security policies and procedures
* Develop and maintain technical documentation
* Provide technical expertise for project build and implementation
* Drive continual service improvement across the IT Operations function
* Deployment and administration of workloads within Microsoft Azure
Knowledge and skills Essential
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Collaborative and results oriented approach towards issue resolution with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build good relationships at all levels
* Strong experience of Microsoft Azure services, resources, and integrations such as but not limited to Entra ID, Enterprise Application, API management, SSO, App Services, Function/Logic Apps
* Knowledge and experience in the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework (WAF)
* Strong experience of supporting Business Continuity/Disaster recover planning and testing. This includes experience managing and maintaining key back-up technologies such as Azure Recovery Services Vaults, Azure Site Recovery and AvePoint.
* Strong experience of PowerShell scripting across the Microsoft platforms
* Proficient in administering Microsoft Office 365 platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange and Teams
* AZ-104 Azure Administrator/AZ-305 Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions/SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator Associate qualification or equivalent.
