Job Description
Hours of work: 16 per week. Working pattern: Part‑time, term‑time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, pro‑rata salary).
Little Horsted is a successful small rural school situated near Uckfield. We are a happy school community where children are encouraged to reach their full potential in a caring Christian environment.
The Governors are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and skilled Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our warm and nurturing school‑based nursery, working primarily with our 2‑year‑old children for 2 days a week from September 2026.
You will play a key role in supporting children’s early development, building secure relationships, and creating a safe, stimulating environment where every child can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality care and learning experiences for 2‑year‑olds in line with the EYFS.
* Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families.
* Support children’s personal, social, emotional, physical, and communication development.
* Contribute to planning, observations, and assessments.
* Work collaboratively with the Early Years and wider school team.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment at all times.
* Uphold the school’s Christian ethos and values in daily practice.

The school will need to ensure that it is not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate, by completing a self‑declaration form as part of the pre‑employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
