Gynae-Oncology Nurse Specialist – 1-Year Secondment (Full-Time)
Frimley Park Hospital. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our supportive and forward-thinking Gynae-Oncology team at Frimley Park Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a 1-year full-time secondment in a specialist role that makes a real difference to patients’ lives.
The successful post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. You will act as an experienced clinical resource, offering expert advice, support, and coordination of care. This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about women’s health, values collaborative working, and is keen to develop specialist skills within gynae-oncology.

Main duties of the job
* The post-holder will act as Keyworker for patients diagnosed with a Gynae malignancy or recurrent disease, providing a link between patients and health care professionals across primary, secondary and tertiary care and act as an advocate for patients/families.
* The post-holder will continually develop, implement and evaluate the Gynae Cancer Service to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-professional framework.
* Be a clinical expert in Gynae cancer with excellent communication skills.
* The role requires the ability to work autonomously and independently but within an integrated collaborative team.
* Ensure that the users of the service are actively involved in the development of the service and that their recommendations are disseminated to the MDT and the Cancer Management Team ensuring appropriate actions are devised.
* Ensure their role reflects the core components of the clinical nurse specialist which includes clinical practice, management/organisation, education, research and audit, taking into account the national cancer agenda and its impact on service delivery.

* Currently working as band 6 in gynaecology or oncology
* Experience of Research and Audit.
* Experience of improving the patient experience.
* Experience of working within MDT / teaching junior staff.
* Experience in gynaecology / oncology.
Desirable criteria
* Experience in undertaking Nurse Led Clinics.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered nurse with NMC pin
* Post Graduation Qualification relevant to specialty
* Mentorship or equivalent.

* Nurse Prescribing.
