Job Title: Lecturer in Electrical Installations

Colchester Institute is looking for a Lecturer in Electrical Installation to guide, support, and inspire both apprentices and full-time learners as they progress toward becoming fully qualified electricians.
About the Role:
As a Lecturer in Electrical Installation at Colchester Institute, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and support to our learners. Your responsibilities will include:
•Delivering engaging lectures and assessment activities, including marking learner work and designing exam/assessment tasks.
• Monitoring the quality of learner work to ensure it meets awarding body standards and collaborating with the Assistant Area Head to deliver an outstanding learning experience.
• Using E-Portfolios to track learner progress and complete online portfolios.
• Providing effective academic and personal tutorial support through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
• Supporting and guiding apprentices throughout their teaching, training, and assessment journey.
• Managing the administration of teaching units and ensuring programme requirements are fully met across multiple learner groups.
Essential Requirements:
• Level 3 Electrical Installation to include an NVQ and an AM2 qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve in post.
