We are looking for a skilled and proactive DT Technician to join our Technology Department. You will provide practical support for teaching staff, ensuring that lessons run smoothly, resources are prepared, and equipment is safe and well‑maintained.
Hours: 37.00 per week, term time only
Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare teaching aids, materials, and samples for lessons and examinations.
* Clear away and organise materials after lessons.
* Support open evenings, exhibitions, and other school events.
* Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and co‑ordinate general upkeep of departmental equipment.
* Arrange repairs with external agencies as needed.
* Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely, including circular saws, drills, and hand tools (subject to training and authorisation).
* Perform safety checks and ensure adherence to Health & Safety protocols.
* Manage and safely store chemicals, and respond appropriately to any spills or hazards.
* Organise stock, maintain inventories, and assist with budget planning and requisitions.
* Liaise with the Head of Department regarding equipment, materials, and IT resources.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of students at all times.
* Uphold the ethos, vision, and aims of the school through professionalism and integrity.
* Attend relevant staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and undertake other duties as required to ensure smooth departmental operation.
