Amspec Limited have grown over the last 23 years into one of the most capable and exciting Design & Build enterprises in the Northwest, currently operating in 4 key sectors: -

· Specialist and Bespoke (our Specialist and Bespoke service involves the Design and Manufacture of fitted and loose Joinery products).

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Sprayer to join our busy team in our modern Joinery Workshop here in Pemberton, Wigan. Predominantly assisting our experienced Sprayer in learning the preparation and application of various types of 2 packs & water-based coatings to all types of bespoke Commercial Joinery items such as bench / booth seating, to doors / architraves / skirting boards / reception desks, shelving units (this list is not exhaustive).

This role will entail:-

· Surface preparation – this involves cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers to ensure a smooth and even surface for painting.

· Paint application – you will learn how to operate the spray equipment, mix and match colours and apply various types of paint (primer, base coat, topcoat) according to specifications.

· Equipment maintenance – ensure spray guns, the spray booth and any other equipment are kept clean and in good working order at all times.

· Quality control – you will learn how to inspect your work, identify defects and make the necessary adjustments to achieve a high-quality finish.

· Health & Safety – adhere to safety guidelines and use the appropriate PPE at all times.

· Follow instructions – you will need to understand and follow work instructions, technical data and company procedures at all times.

No previous experience is necessary as full in-house training will be provided. However, having a background knowledge of paints or different wood materials would be an advantage, although not essential.

· Great team worker with the ability to multi task.

· Excellent listening skills & follow instructions

· Able to work to tight deadlines

The normal hours of work are 07.30am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday (overtime may be necessary on occasion). We offer 21 days plus Statutory Bank Holidays per annum. Competitive rates of pay (to be discussed during interview) dependent upon your previous work experience and qualifications. This is a full-time / permanent position to commence ASAP.
