Job summary
We are a large busy GP practicelocated over two sites in Bramhall and Shaw Heath.
We are looking for a medical receptionist with excellent communication and telephone skills who will be available to workacross our 2 sites.
As the first point of contact,this role is integral to our approach to patient care, both face to face and onthe telephone.
Main duties of the job
Be available to work 4-5 days withvarying shift patterns.
You will be expected to receive,assist and direct patients either in person or via phone in accessing theappropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient andeffective way.
Ensure that enquiries frompatients are efficiently handled.
Provide general assistance tothe practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients andother visitors, either in person or via the telephone

1. Process appointment requests from patients by telephone and in person.
2. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
3. Deal with home visit requests ensuring they are entered on computer with the patient records
Administration
4. To assist with all practice based reception admin tasks as directed
5. To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
6. To work in accordance with practice policies/protocols and processes
7. Any other tasks allocated by managers
Other Tasks
8. Clear and stock rooms after surgeries
9. Any other tasks allocated by managers
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
10. Excellent interpersonal skills
11. Team player
12. Proficient in the use of MS word/excel
Desirable
13. Previous General Practice experience
14. GCSE grade C or above
15. Full training will be given to applicants with relevant transferable skills
