Join our team as a Gas Engineer
The Gas Engineer plays a vital role in keeping our customers safe, warm and comfortable by delivering high-quality gas servicing, repairs and installations across our homes. Working as part of the Gas & Electrics Team, you'll ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and regulatory standards, contributing directly to the quality of our housing and the wellbeing of our communities.
This is a hands-on role for a qualified and customer-focused professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys working collaboratively to deliver excellent services.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, repairs and installation of domestic gas appliances and heating systems in line with Gas Safe regulations.
* Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, minimising disruption to customers.
* Use mobile systems (PDA) to receive, update and close jobs accurately.
* Inspect works, identify materials required and order parts to complete jobs effectively.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, other trades and external partners to deliver a high-quality service.
* Support the long-term condition of housing stock by maintaining safe and efficient heating systems.
* Ensure Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is embedded in all interactions and decisions.
* Identify and report health and safety issues, sharing learning where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent City & Guilds qualification in Gas.
* ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1, with a willingness to work towards MET1 and DAH1 if required.
* Proven experience installing, servicing and repairing domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
* Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and compliance requirements.
* Good communication and customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
* Confident using digital devices and systems, including mobile technology and Microsoft applications.
* A full valid driving licence.

* Experience working in social housing or with vulnerable customers is desirable.
