General Manager
Gaucho is looking for an experienced and passionate General Manager to join one of our Edinburgh restaurants. The successful candidate will be an experienced restaurant operator, fully accountable for guest experience, finance, sales growth, legal compliance, and team development. The General Manager will work closely with the Operations Director on projects and will take full ownership of them. They will be an ambassador for the business, leading by example and driving the business.
Key Responsibilities of the General Manager
1. Managing financials by planning to drive sales and beat budgets
2. Yearly budget planning and maximising covers while protecting the guest experience
3. Fully accountable for team objectives and development planning
4. Effective management of rotas, employee relations issues, and recruitment
5. Practices an open-door policy with the team and ensures employee welfare
6. Drives the Gaucho culture and manages both the team and senior members
7. Ensures compliance throughout the business, with the team being fully trained to the correct level, and personally being trained accordingly
8. Achieves 95% or above on food audits and health and safety standards
9. Focuses on guest feedback from Revinate and mystery diners
10. Leads marketing initiatives
Requirements for Gaucho General Manager
1. In-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry
2. Strong experience managing a successful restaurant
3. WSET Level 2 certification
4. Excellent communication skills and aspirational leadership
5. Project management skills
