Data Solution Architect
Remote working
£650-675/day overall assignment rate to umbrella
3-month initial contract
Working with a market leading client who have a requirement for a Data Solution Architect to design, lead and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade data platforms.
This role requires deep expertise in data architecture, dimensional data modelling (Kimball) and modern cloud-based data ecosystems (ideally Databricks).
Core Technical Expertise
* Strong experience in data solution architecture within enterprise environments
* Proven hands-on expertise in data warehousing concepts and implementation
* Deep knowledge of Kimball dimensional modelling methodology.
Platforms & Tools
* Experience with Databricks (preferred) or similar platforms:
o Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, or equivalent
* Strong proficiency with:
o SQL (advanced level)
o Spark / PySpark
o Data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, ADF, etc.)
Data Modelling
* Extensive experience designing:
o Fact and dimension tables
o Star and snowflake schemas
o Aggregation layers and semantic models
Data Migration & Mapping
* Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale data migration projects
* Strong capability in:
o Source-to-target mapping
o Data transformation design
o Data reconciliation and validation techniques
Cloud & Architecture
* Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
* Understanding of lakehouse architectures and hybrid data platforms
Desirable
* Experience with medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers)
* Knowledge of data governance tools (e.g., Purview, Collibra)
* Exposure to real-time/streaming data pipelines
* Experience working in Agile delivery environments
