Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that food preparation and meal preparation processes run smoothly. Duties
* Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
* Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
* Support catering activities by preparing ingredients and assisting in the setup of food service areas.
* Help cooks with various tasks, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning meals.
* Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to the head chef.
* Participate in regular cleaning schedules to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills
* Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential.
* Understanding of food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
* A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn from experienced cooks.
