Responsibilities
* Lead design and engineering activities across project lifecycles, from concept to commissioning, ensuring cost, time, and quality targets are met.
* Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams (MEP, civil, mechanical, electrical, process, software) and coordinate with clients, design teams, and delivery partners.
* Ensure regulatory compliance, design assurance, HSE standards, and the integration of design outputs with project delivery.
* Provide accurate design estimates, manage design changes, and control resources to support smooth project execution.
* Maintain and govern engineering documentation, RFI/TQ/MAR processes, design risk registers, and design checks.
* Mentor and develop junior engineers; foster a collaborative, solution-driven engineering culture.
* Manage budgets, procurement, scheduling, and performance metrics; monitor KPIs and programme outcomes.
* Act as technical advisor and, where appropriate, assume quasi-Product Owner responsibilities without direct line management.
Qualifications
* Accredited engineering degree; Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred.
* Experience leading engineering teams across project lifecycles; multidisciplinary knowledge across software, infrastructure, data, and mechanical/electrical domains.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills; ability to brief executives and influence decisions.
* Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the sector (e.g., CDM, WIMES, DWI, HSE).
* Proven track record in delivering turnkey projects and managing design-to-handover workflows.
* UK driving licence and any role-specific qualifications (e.g., BIM Level 2, CSCS/M&E qualifications) as applicable.
