Due to growth and expansion plans they have created the brand-new role of Business Development Manager specifically focussing on the Retail Buying and Symbol Groups market sectors. The Role We are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive the growth of our Food brands across Retail Buying Groups and Symbol Groups (e.g., SPAR, Nisa, Costcutter, Londis, Premier, Budgens, Best-one) * This role requires a balance of strategic account management and depot-level execution. * You will work closely with Group Head Offices, Wholesalers, and Independent Retailers to maximise distribution, availability, and brand visibility across the Convenience Channel. The Candidate * Experience in account management and building a client base across the UK Retail Buying Groups and Symbol Groups. * Excellent communicator at all levels and have good commercial awareness. * Ability to work on own initiative and to tight timescales when necessary. * Be flexible in their approach and have a positive attitude. * Customer focused and solutions driven. * Excellent negotiation skills. * First rate communication and presentation skills both verbal and written. * Organised and effective time planner. * Ability to prioritise workload by importance Strong numerical skills and ability to analyse data. * A passion for driving costs out of the business & increasing profitability. * Ability to think outside the box and drive innovation. * Open minded and able to embrace and influence change. * Able to work under pressure in a competitive marketplace and gain market advantage. * A "can do and will do" attitude. * Able to deliver results.
