The Cancer Services Team are looking for a Data officer who will work alongside Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC) and MDT Coordinator Teams to ensure patients have a timely, efficient, effective and supported journey through their cancer pathway.
The post-holder will:
1. Ensure the recording of clinical information for all cancer patients is accurately entered
2. Maintain data entry requirements by following data programme techniques and procedures
3. Be responsible for collating missing data and confirming information from various sources to ensure complete and accurate data entry
4. Support the Cancer team in the preparation of regular monitoring and analysis reports for this cohort of cancer patients
5. Provide and receive complicated and sensitive information, and give explanations and instructions clearly and concisely where barriers to communication may exist, including challenging behaviour, learning disability and recent bereavement.
6. Answer internal and external telephone enquires in an efficient manner, from other members of staff, other departments, patients/relatives, GPs and other hospitals.
Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate they are able to manage a diverse workload on their own initiative, be excellent communicators, and be organised and systematic and accurate in the way they work. The posts offered will be a mixture of fixed term, substantive, full/part time and will be discussed at interview.

8. To become familiar with the data stored within medical notes and on the Trust’s computer systems about patients with cancer.
9. Maintain data entry requirements by following data programme techniques and procedures.
10. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures reporting any necessary changes required.
11. To be responsible for collating missing data and confirming information from various sources to ensure complete and accurate data entry.
12. To have a basic understanding and familiarity with medical terminology.
13. To ensure all information follows the Caldicott information governance guidelines.
14. To support the Cancer team in the preparation of regular monitoring and analysis reports for this cohort of cancer patients.

23. 5 GCSE's or equivalent
24. Knowledge of clerical/administrative procedures and systems
25. Relevant experience of working with the NHS or other health related job.
