Job description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Tutor to join our growing team, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children build confidence, develop their skills, and reach their full potential in a supportive one-to-one or small group setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
2. Support pupils in core subjects (English, Maths, and Science)
3. Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents and guardians
4. Create a positive and encouraging learning environment
5. Prepare pupils for SATs and other assessments where appropriate
Contract/Position Details:
6. Location – Within the community or pupils’ home
7. Position – 1:1 Outreach Tutor
8. Type of work – Contract
9. Start date – ASAP
10. Duration – Until the pupil can reintegrate into a new school placement
11. End date (if applicable) – Ongoing
12. Contract type – Temporary
13. Full-time/part-time – Part time (15 hours per week, per student)
14. Minimum rate of pay – £25 – £30 per hour
15. Hours – Working hours can differentiate, depending on the convenient timings of the family
Experience, Training and Qualifications of the 1:1 Outreach Tutor:
16. QTS or equivalent
17. Possess UK classroom teaching experience
18. Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
19. Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 Outreach Tutor must:
20. Hold the right to work in the UK
21. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
22. Provide two professional child-related references.
