Job overview
Do you have excellent clinical skills, with supervisor and leadership experience in a Talking Therapy service? West NHS Talking Therapies is looking for an innovative and experienced High Intensity Therapist to provide leadership to our team. You will be joining our existing management team to help manage our growing teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for appropriately qualified and experienced HIT to take on additional supervisory, managerial and service development related responsibilities and extend their knowledge and skills. The role requires flexibility to lead across a range of roles and responsibilities within the management team.
Applicants should be motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and committed to developing staff and to staff wellbeing. Applicants must have substantial experience of working as HIT in a Talking Therapy service, managing complex client presentations and providing formal clinical supervision to Talking Therapy qualified staff and trainees. Experience of working with patients with long‑term health conditions is highly desirable.
Main duties of the job
* Take a proactive lead role in the development and expansion of the Talking Therapies service in collaboration with the Clinical Lead and Team Manager, including supporting the management team with service promotion and achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
* Hold a post graduate Talking Therapies qualification in a HIT modality and be accredited or working towards this.
* Have substantial experience of working as a HIT in a Talking Therapy service, managing complex client presentations and providing formal clinical supervision to Talking Therapy qualified staff and trainees.
* Provide high quality therapy to adults presenting with moderate to severe mental health problems, including those with a degree of complexity in accordance with NICE guidelines. Work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may be called upon to work in various settings.

Qualifications
* Talking Therapies Accredited Post Graduate High Intensity Therapy qualification
* Evidence of regular CPD
* Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. RMN or Social Worker
* Psychology degree
* NHS Talking Therapies training in LTC’s and EMDR Training
Knowledge and Expertise
* Knowledge of different models for understanding anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care
* Understanding of models of Biopsychosocial assessment, referral management, recordkeeping and evidence-based brief psychological interventions
* Experience of working with clients in a primary care setting
* A good understanding of the Talking Therapies model, supervision and service delivery
* Experience working as a step 3 therapist in a Talking Therapies service
* Ability to carry out a range of evaluation and monitoring techniques
* Ability to work through interpreters
* Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and delegate appropriately
Experience
* Significant experience of working with people with common mental health problems as a HIT
* Able to manage own case load efficiently and achieve agreed activity targets
* Ability to demonstrate a range of post‑qualifying experiences in offering and delivering the range of evidence‑based Talking Therapies high intensity interventions
* Experience of and ability to provide mentorship, training, clinical supervision to qualified and trainee HIT’s
* Consolidated and reflective supervised post‑qualifying experience in a community setting
* Experience of working with clients in a primary care setting
* Experience of assessing and working with a wide spectrum of mental health issues and working with people with common mental health problems
* Experience of working within the Talking Therapies culture
* Experience of line management and leadership or commitment to undertake Trust training programme
* Experience of dealing with issues relating to Child Protection/vulnerable adult legislation
* Substantial experience of multi‑disciplinary teamwork
* Experience of ‘partnership working’
* Evidence of working within a service development role
