What you can expect
Expect a dynamic environment filled with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. Throughout the scheme, youll spend 4-6 month rotations across various teams in our 4 services: Portfolio Management, Portfolio Delivery, Change Management & Assurance. This will provide you with valuable insights into how we manage change and offer a diverse experience across all teams. It will also help guide your decisions on the direction youd like your career to take.
Youll learn about all aspects of change, from designing a strategically prioritised Portfolio of Projects and Programmes, to delivery, governance, reporting and embedding change in the business. Youll own specific pieces of delivery, handling everything from scope and planning to stakeholder communication and problem-solving. With a focus on hands-on experience, youll be supported to undertake the industry recognised Project Management Qualification with the Association for Project Management (APM).
Through delivering change across the business, you'll make connections in different departments to help further your experience and knowledge of NFU Mutual. Get ready for a rewarding journey where collaboration, support, and a strong work ethic are at the heart of everything we do!
Your future
Throughout the scheme, youll strengthen your core project management, change management & portfolio management skills, earning a recognised project management qualification, and developing essential competencies to set you up for a successful career. You'll be fully supported along the way, with a dedicated buddy and mentor. Youll also have a strong network of current and former graduates alongside access to mentors and coaches across the business. As you near the end of the scheme, a career coach will be there to guide you in planning your next steps .
Its not just about work. We actively encourage our graduates to get involved in a range of extracurricular activities, from volunteering and organising charity or social events, to representing NFU Mutual at industry events all aligned with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework. Plus, youll have the chance to unwind and network with colleagues by joining one of our many after-work sports teams and competitions, including football, cricket, tennis, darts, table tennis, and more.
Application Process
If your application is shortlisted, youll be invited to complete an online assessment designed to measure your potential for success, such as your ability to learn and solve problems. Should you be successful, youll move on to a short video interview. The final stage will be an in-person assessment centre, where youll participate in a variety of activities, including a group exercise, a role-specific exercise, and a skills-based interview. The assessment centres will be held on Monday 1st and Wednesday 3rd December.

What we're looking for
To join this scheme, youll need to have achieved, or be on track for, at least a 2:2 degree. Ideally this will be in a subject with a focus on business/project management, however we welcome candidates from any degree background, as what truly matters to us is your passion for learning, curiosity, and potential for growth. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a positive, can-do attitude to everything you do, youll fit right in!
Well also be looking out for:

If youre able to bring these, we can teach you the rest, regardless of what subject you studied.
Work experience
If youve gained industry experience or completed a placement year thats a big plus! But dont worry if you havent, its not a must-have for the scheme. What were really looking for is some previous work experience where youve had the chance to interact with people and develop your communication skills.
