You will need to lead, inspire, challenge & support all maintenance activity at Plant SQ, Sanquhar, Scotland.
You will drive reliability and optimise quality whilst reducing cost and improving the efficiency of our equipment. Plant Engineering:
Provide leadership for continuous improvement of the plants TPM System, with the measure being improved equipment reliability. Use data to develop appropriate PPM schedules across all critical assets.
Develop appropriate engineering KPIs to support the movement from reactive to preventative to continuous improvement tasks
This includes providing leadership and direction across the plant to ensure there is a ROI for maintenance spend and that there are initiatives to optimise this spend.
Ensure that technicians have the skills necessary to support the facility and to advance in the DOS (Demonstration of Skills) system.
Lead weekly planning meetings with each manufacturing department to prioritize work.
Provide necessary supervision to complete job assignments on schedule and in accordance with the defined scope. Follow-up on jobs to ensure the quality of the work and the satisfaction of the customer.
Implement new methods and/or procedures to improve work methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
Develop business cases, submit, and manage projects.
Manage/Build relationships with contractors and suppliers. Ensure RAMS are received, contractors are inducted and work to the plants local guidelines.
Ensure the facility is compliant with regulations and standards and ensure that documentation reflecting compliance is readily available for audit.
Administer departmental and plant policies and procedures.
This will include developing equipment specific LOTO procedures, reviewing and enhancing guarding, ensuring strong contractor control procedures etc.
Build relationships with production staff and local plant leadership.
Build relationships with Divisional Engineering support and follow guidelines/procedures provided.
Process Engineering
To include the inputs, outputs, machine settings and product specifications.
Engage in solving manufacturing problems with engineering solutions. To include Safety, Quality, Efficiency. Scope projects and prioritise this workload within the engineering team
Support and encourage the wider plant continuous improvement journey through coaching and encouragement.
Training & Development:
Develop engineering skills in the organization
Help them to develop their understanding of the equipment and help them develop sound Engineering /Troubleshooting skills.
Recognize when there are gaps and utilize resources to provide training.
Provide technical coaching and mentorship as required to non-engineers to support process understanding.
Overtime and weekend work may be required including on-call support. Develop the engineering organisation to effectively offer this service.
Lead standard work introduction in the engineering team
Meet Weekly with Divisional Engineering.
Will be an active member of the plant leadership team.
We are looking for candidates who possess theoretical, practical knowledge and experience of maintenance excellence and maintenance management. Further, we require candidates to be experienced in facilities management and plant upgrades through project preparation, approval submission and contractor management. Education at degree level within an engineering discipline preferred combined with a proven track record within manufacturing. Candidates with extensive manufacturing and/or engineering & maintenance experience will also be considered.
~8+ years project engineering/plant engineering experience. Wide knowledge of manufacturing, including mechanical and electrical equipment.
~ Desireable to have mechanical, power and controls knowledge.
~ Analytic skills and capabilities, including analysis and presentation of data.
~ General awareness of the upkeep requirements of an aging manufacturing facility and an ability to coordinate contractors.
