Homelift Building Surveyor Manager
Location: Colchester, Essex
Salary £45,000 per annum + Benefits + Company Vehicle (fully expensed)
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Survey Manager with proven technical surveying experience ideally within domestic / construction environments. In this role, officially titled Homelift Building Surveyor Manager, you will lead and support a team of technical surveyors delivering high-quality, safe, accurate, right first time technical surveys that ensure compliant and efficient domestic homelift installations across the UK. You’ll combine demonstrated leadership skills with hands-on surveying expertise, and proven knowledge of CDM and Building Regulations, ensuring every project is safe, accurate and compliant.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and develop the Homelift Building Surveyor team, setting clear expectations for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
* Plan and coordinate national survey coverage, ensuring right-first-time delivery and effective resource use.
* Conduct technical surveys for domestic through-floor lift installations, producing accurate measurements, drawings, and structural reports.
* Ensure compliance with CDM, health & safety, risk assessments, and regulatory standards across all surveys.
* Identify structural risks, validate requirements, and implement safe, practical solutions.
* Manage team performance, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and welfare to drive a high-performance culture.
* Liaise with internal teams, Building Control, and external stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.
* Support national operations, including travel, audits, and corrective actions, while maintaining consistent quality and compliance.

What you’ll need to succeed
* Proven experience leading and developing technical teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.
* In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, and domestic construction methods.
* Demonstrated experience conducting surveys in a construction or residential build environment.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify risks and implement practical solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, able to simplify technical information for teams and stakeholders.
* Effective organisational and IT skills to manage surveys, documentation, and team capacity.
* Full UK driving license required to support national survey operations; company vehicle provided.
