Situated in Feering with a local train station (kelvedon) and bus services we are busy food lead pub. With a well equiped kitchen we use seasonal local produce to create more than just the standard pub fayre. Breads, pasta and sauces all made from scratch.
Job Summary
To work along side the rest of the kitchen team, in all areas to produce great tasting locally sourced food. A chance for input on specials. Working week will be split over 5 days totalling approx 45 hours a week.
With exciting times and ambitions ahead, this will be a rewarding job for anyone who has a real passion and great work ethic.
You must be available to work at all times, including evening and weekends.
Please note you will also need to be aware of getting too and from work, and restricted public transport times.
Fresh food only. Ideal candidates will have had previous experience in this. We bake our own breads, and make all items on the menu from scratch. We have our own veg garden and use produce from the garden aswell.
You will be required to: cooks guests' orders according to their preferences
Selects choice ingredients that will give dishes the best flavour
Experiment to come up with new specialties that will draw diners into the restaurant
Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experience
Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
Act with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces
Determines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the restaurant
Occasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy
Takes direction and works with the restaurant's administrative team
Paid for every minute you work, no unpaid overtime
Closed Mondays. No Christmas Day/Boxing Day work.
