The Role
As a Ground Investigation Engineer, you'll be responsible for planning, supervising, and reporting on ground investigations. The role combines both fieldwork and office-based tasks, giving you a well-rounded experience in geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering.
Day-to-day, you'll:
5. Supervise site investigations (drilling, trial pitting, sampling, in-situ testing).
6. Liaise with clients, contractors, and colleagues to keep projects running smoothly.
7. Ensure safety and quality on site through risk assessments and method statements.
8. Analyse and interpret field and laboratory data.
9. Produce high-quality factual and interpretative reports.
What We're Looking For
10. A degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related Earth Science subject.
11. Experience in ground investigation or site supervision (graduate-level candidates with relevant placements will also be considered).
12. Strong understanding of geotechnical and geo-environmental techniques.
13. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
14. A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team.
15. Full UK driving licence (essential).
