This is an exciting time to join the University of St Andrews Libraries & Museums as a Senior Library Assistant (Acquisitions and Content Delivery) and help to support the effective implementation of the Unit’s strategic plan 2024-2029. Key themes include developing a continuous improvement approach to the design of core services and ensuring long-term sustainability for collection development and stewardship. The successful candidates will be based in the Acquisitions and Content Delivery Team and will play an active part in achieving these broader goals, as well as supporting the day-to-day delivery of key services including purchase requests for reading lists. All members of the Team are expected to take a flexible and positive approach to their work, and the role holders, although working primarily with the Acquisitions and Content Delivery Team, will be asked to undertake a range of duties across the Library Collections and Digital Services Directorate as and when the need arises. Other typical tasks include covering the Walter Bower House Library reading room and the Scan & Deliver service. The successful candidates will have a good general education to Scottish Higher Level or equivalent, be an effective communicator with a team-player attitude who takes an organised approach to their work to ensure daily service deliveries are met effectively and efficiently.
