We are hiring for a proactive and enthusiastic Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly, innovative small animal practice located in Twickenham. This essential role works alongside our clinical and non-clinical team to provide exceptional veterinary and client care. We pride ourselves on our excellent reputation and welcoming staff.
As part of your role, you will be involved in:
* General cleaning, tidying, and washing particularly of clinical areas such as theatres
* Running laboratory tests such as blood tests
* Re-stocking equipment
* Supporting and setting up surgical procedures
* Animal handling and restraint
* Walking, grooming and feeding hospitalised animals (inpatients)
* Supporting the reception team when needed, including meeting and welcoming clients, answering the telephone and dealing with clients appropriately, and arranging/rescheduling appointments
Schedule and Location
This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday with no weekends and no out-of-hours. Shifts are usually 8:00am – 4:30pm or 11:00am – 7:30pm. We are also happy to consider part-time applicants. Twickenham Veterinary Surgery is based in Twickenham with access to local transport links.

About the Practice
Twickenham Veterinary Surgery is based in Twickenham on the River Thames, roughly 10 miles west of Charing Cross, with access to cafes, restaurants, and parks. The practice features digital X-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitor, endoscope, laser, a dedicated nurse’s consulting room, and a collaborative team environment.
Team and Culture
You will join an experienced team of five vets, supported by four full-time nurses, three part-time nurses, and six staff members. Customer care and staff well-being are central to our values, and we actively partner with local animal charities to create a positive impact. We promote a no-blame culture with open case discussions and commitment to continuous improvement of protocols.
