Overview
We have an excellent opportunity for a Hydrogeologist to join our Tactical Water Resources team. You will work closely with the Groundwater team and wider Water Resources team to apply and develop hydrogeology expertise throughout our group.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Tactical Water Resources Manager, your role will include:
* providing sound technical support to Operations in all aspects of hydrogeology and borehole operation
* providing the hydrogeological assistance and site supervision required to deliver operational borehole maintenance and replacement
* undertaking site visits, water sampling, pumping tests and geophysical surveys
* collecting, maintaining and improving groundwater asset information and datasets
* providing support to water resource planning and development
* supporting the Catchment Risk team in identifying and quantifying catchment (including aquifer) derived water quality risks
* working effectively and collaboratively across the business, including our Operations team
* assisting with the delivery of our groundwater source investigations
* involvement with the wider Tactical Water Resources team on source outputs and data management
* supporting the sustainable development, protection and management of our groundwater sources by drawing on your curious approach to issues and innovation.
To be effective in delivering the water maintenance programme, you'll work with the Groundwater team on diagnosing problems with our borehole assets and start devising plans to help carry on maintaining and repairing them. Additionally, this role will involve working with a wealth of data so you can analyse and interpret this to identify and convey the hydrological and hydrogeological risks associated with the operation of our groundwater abstractions.
Your role will have a significant impact on how we design and deliver our resource plans for our Business Plan in 2029 and beyond. Whilst the Tactical Water Resources team is based in Bath, the role is regional and allows flexible working, with a mix of site and office work, the proportion of which will depend on the work programme.
