We’re looking for a skilled SQL Server DBA to help us push boundaries, solve complex challenges, and deliver excellence across diverse client environments. This is a remote opportunity, suitable for mid-career to seasoned professionals.
About The Role
* Administer and optimise SQL Server environments across multiple clients
* Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security best practices
* Lead technical discussions and offer strategic guidance to client teams
* Perform upgrades, installations, and after-hours maintenance deployments
* Tune performance, refine automation, and ensure high availability
* Mentor colleagues and contribute to our shared technical knowledge base
* Fostering a collaborative approach to inclusive teamworking
* Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota (shared across the team)
About You
What You Bring
* Deep expertise in SQL Server infrastructure and database administration
* Strong grasp of backup/recovery models, replication, and performance tuning
* Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting (bonus points!)
* Experience with HA solutions: Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Clustering, Mirroring
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and migration strategies
* Bonus: Exposure to PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL
* Excellent communication skills able to translate tech into business value
* A proactive mindset and a passion for solving problems
Qualifications
* Microsoft or Oracle certifications are a plus—but not essential
* Hands-on experience and ability to deliver are what matter most
