Job summary


We are seeking to recruit for a Secretary who has a passion for high quality customer care to work within the (enter department) Department. This is a full time role.

You'll provide comprehensive secretarial support to the current admin team, consultants, associate specialists, and other allied health professionals. We are looking for someone who can use their own initiative, work well with other people, be able to work on their own as well as being able to approach others for support. The right candidate will have excellent IT and typing skills.

Main duties, tasks & skills required


Communicate with patients, colleagues, internal and external

Deal with day to day correspondence,

Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary

Prioritise own work efficiently and effectively, highlighting any issues to the Band 4

Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by medical staff, by use of audio or copy typing.

Person specification



Qualifications



Essential

* Diploma level/NVQ 4 in Business Administration or equivalent
* ECDL or equivalent (or equivalent/working towards)
* RSA/OCR III or equivalent typing/word processing including audio typing
* Minimum of GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills


Experience



Essential

* Administration experience at a senior level
* Experience of taking formal minutes
* Experience of setting up and maintaining office systems

* Excellent organisational skills
* Excellent communication and ability to work in a team
* Prioritise and Multi-task
* Able to work independently, be proactive and use initiative
* Skills in supervising and supporting others
