What You Will Be Doing
* Managing multiple ongoing ecological projects across the East of England
* Designing and planning surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments
* Interacting directly with clients to deliver high-quality, tailored ecological advice
* Collaborating with in house teams and external consultants
* Producing technical reports, impact assessments, and biodiversity documentation
* Supporting, mentoring, and providing training for Assistant and Graduate Ecologists
* Contributing to work on habitat banking, landscape recovery, and biodiversity net gain initiatives
* Staying informed of changes in relevant legislation and industry best practices
What You Need
* Relevant degree or higher qualification in a related subject
* At least 3 years' experience in ecological consultancy
* Proven experience with:
o Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
o Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments
o Protected species surveys (e.g., badgers, reptiles)
* Strong project management skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Excellent technical report writing skills
* Working knowledge of UK and EU wildlife/environmental legislation and policy
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Willingness to travel for work assignments
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
* Specialised field survey experience (e.g., ornithology)
* FISC Level 4 or above
* MoRPh accreditation
* Experience as an Ecological Clerk of Works
* GIS/QGIS proficiency
* Bat licence (level two or above)
* CSCS card
