Overview
Are you a semi-skilled Fabricator/Welder? This could be the perfect opportunity for you! As a Grade 3 Fabricator/Welder at Caterpillar, you\'ll have the chance to collaborate with and contribute to a team of experienced Fabricator/Welders, enhancing your skills and building your career. In this role you will perform basic fabrication/welding tasks. This is your chance to work with a global leader and make a real impact.
Responsibilities
* Weld, fabricate, and tack components and sub-assemblies of generator sets.
* Operate manual and automatic MIG welding machines.
* Repair and rework production parts.
* Compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Interprets prints, plan methods and sequence of work.
* Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
* Uphold Caterpillar's Values in Action.
* Any other appropriate duties.
Essential Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Fabrication/Welding or minimum 12 months experience.
* Able to understand and follow detailed verbal instructions and perform basic maths.
* Ability to conduct the physical aspects of the position, including tasks performed at height.
* Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience in lean manufacturing.
* Ability to use slinging equipment and cranes to move materials.
* Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and squares to ensure work accuracy and compliance with specifications.
* Attention to detail to meet quality standards.
* Ability to prioritise and organise sequence of work.

Hours of work and salary
* Day Shift - £13.33/hr.
* Night Shift - £17.77/hr.
* Overtime - £20.00/hr (First ten hours)
* Overtime - £26.66/hr. (After ten hours overtime)
* 37.5 hours per week. (Mon - Thurs)
