What will the apprentice be doing on site
We are looking for a L4 Quantity Surveyor apprentice to work on a redevelopment site in Great Yarmouth, East Norfolk. The project includes demolition, provision of a 3-storey building, extension works, car parking, landscaping, infrastructure works and an access road.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to learn about the commercial side of construction. The qualification will also include elements of:
* Health, Safety and Welfare
* Sustainability
* Design
* Science
* Materials
* Maths and Building Technology in Construction
* Project Management
* Graphical Detailing
* Surveying
* Finance
* Design
* Law and Planning Procedures
Are there restrictions
Whilst not completely necessary, it would be preferable for the apprentice to have their own transport. The apprentice will need to achieve a CSCS pass before they can start on site – assistance will be given if this has not yet been achieved.
What sort of candidate are you looking for
The ideal candidate will be motivated and hardworking, with good levels of GCSE qualifications. They will need to have good mathematical ability.
Essential qualities
The successful candidate will have good initiative and a willingness to learn, enjoy working with people and as part of a team. They will possess excellent communication skills and be able to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships. A real interest in construction is essential, alongside a strong work ethic and a desire to progress.
Qualifications Required
Minimum Grade 4 GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and one Science, or a previous Level 2 Apprenticeship.
