Associate Solicitor - Residential Conveyancing Annual Salary: DOE Location: Cardiff Job Type: Full-time We are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join our Clients Residential Conveyancing Department. This role is crucial for contributing to the smooth running of the firm by working towards the goals of the business plan and effectively managing staff within your area of responsibility. Day-to-day of the role: Take instructions from clients in person or on the telephone. Draft letters and legal documents, and check title documents to properties. Liaise directly with other parties with enquiries/replies. Undertake searches with Local Authority, Land Registry, etc. Report to clients with relevant information on their transaction and advise clients where necessary. Attend upon clients to sign legal documents. Draw up completion statements, agree dates with all parties, and exchange contracts. Arrange the transfer of monies on completion. Submit Stamp Duty forms and register documents at Land Registry. Comply with Solicitors Account Rules and Rules of Professional Conduct of Solicitors. Exercise high standards of client care at all times. Manage own support staff/secretary if applicable. Participate in marketing activities and actively promote the firm. Ensure financial control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures on own matters. Ensure confidentiality and security of the firm’s and client’s documentation and information. Carry out any other duties relevant to the position as required by the Partners of the Firm. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified and experienced as an Associate Solicitor, particularly in Residential Conveyancing. Ability to manage both fee-earners and support staff effectively. Strong business development skills with a proven track record in growing department workloads. Excellent communication and client care skills. Familiarity with the practice business plan and a consistent approach to achieving its goals. Ability to participate in external business activities and management meetings.
