We are seeking a motivated Deputy Manager to support the leadership of our outdoor-focused nursery. Set within a Forest School environment, this role offers the opportunity to help shape a setting where children learn through exploration, nature, and play.
Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you’ll help lead a team committed to delivering high-quality early years education both indoors and outdoors, ensuring children have meaningful, hands-on experiences in all seasons.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the day-to-day management of a Forest School nursery
* Leading and inspiring a team to deliver engaging outdoor learning experiences
* Ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
* Embedding the EYFS framework within a nature-based curriculum
* Promoting children’s independence, curiosity, and resilience through outdoor play
* Supporting staff development, coaching, and performance management
* Maintaining strong partnerships with parents and carers
* Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and risk assessments are consistently upheld—particularly in outdoor environments
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a supervisory role within an early years setting
* A strong understanding of the EYFS framework
* A genuine interest in outdoor learning and nature-based education
* Confidence working outdoors in all weather conditions
* Knowledge of (or willingness to train in) Forest School principles and practices
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* A thoughtful and reflective approach to supporting both children and staff
