Responsibilities
The Service supports people aged 16 and upwards in the community, providing a range of recovery‑focused Talking Therapy interventions for people with mild, moderate, and moderately/severe common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. The service uses a stepped care treatment approach.
* Manage a specialised caseload of moderate to moderately/severe psychological disorders;
* Make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, working to the department's referral protocol;
* Engage in regular clinical and managerial supervision;
* Attend dedicated CPD days from the bespoke training package;
* Support a diverse population across the East Riding.
Person Specification
* Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services;
* Experience of providing evidence‑based psychological interventions;
* Experience with routine outcome monitoring;
* Experience of teaching and liaising with other professionals;
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist/advanced level of care;
* Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area;
* Development of advanced/expert level of practice skills and ability to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development;
* Experience of working in Primary Care Services.
Qualifications, Education & Training
* Post‑graduate Diploma CBT qualification that meets the criteria for British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) accreditation, with evidence of experience delivering CBT in a Talking Therapy Service;
* Accredited or working towards accreditation with the BABCP;
* Basic IT skills;
* Demonstrate specialist understanding of anxiety and depression and how they may present in Primary Care;
* Ability to evaluate and put in place the effects of training;
* Talking Therapy qualification in High Intensity CBT Psychological Therapies – post‑graduate certificate level.
Skills and Competencies
* Effective interpersonal skills and experience in mentoring;
* The ability to be resilient and maintain one’s own wellbeing whilst working in stressful situations, managing a high volume caseload;
* Ability to work positively within a team;
* Experience of giving clinical supervision.
