Job Title: Civils Sub Agent - Northern England
Package: £50,000-£55,000 per annum
I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a leading civil engineering contractor operating across Scotland and Northern England. Due to ongoing success and a strong pipeline of infrastructure work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of complex heavy civils projects for their Northern England sites.
This is a role for someone with a strong background in earthworks, drainage, and other heavy civils work within the energy or marine sectors, who is happy to work across multiple sites predominately within Northern England. Accommodation and subsistence are provided when working away from home.
Responsibilities:
· Take responsibility for managing defined sections of work, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, and to the required quality
· Coordinate day-to-day site operations including supervision of engineers, subcontractors, and site teams
· Support the planning of works and assist in tracking progress against programme and budget
· Provide technical input on construction methodologies, temporary works, and sequencing
· Ensure site documentation such as RAMS, ITPs, permits and progress records are maintained accurately
· Assist with subcontractor management, material procurement and logistics planning
· Contribute to client and internal meetings, reporting progress and raising any issues or risks
· Promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all site activities
Requirements:
· Prior experience in a Sub Agent or experienced Site Engineer role on heavy civils projects within energy or marine infrastructure
· Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, drainage, concrete structures, and general civils operations
· Proficient in setting out, QA processes, and reading/interpreting construction drawings
· CSCS card, SMSTS, and First Aid essential
· Temporary Works Supervisor and other relevant tickets desirable
· Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
· Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Full UK Driving Licence
· Willingness to travel across sites in Northern England/South Scotland
Package:
· £50,000-£55,000 depending on experience
· Car allowance + mileage
